Infinite Wonder is the perfect title for this book! Scott Kelly has spent over a year on the International Space station, longer than anyone else. First we are shown what life is like on the space station and some of the work that Kelly does - from lab pictures, to growing plants to experimenting with mice (there are mice in space!). He also manages to take breathtaking pictures of the Earth and stars, from landmarks and cityscapes to the aurora, showing the beauty and art in both from a vantage point most of us will never get to experience. He takes landscape pictures of Earth that look like they can only be abstract paintings, showing colors I didn’t know occurred naturally that should be marveled over. Only through his commentary can you begin to imagine what places he is photographing at times. He also shows us the beauty and power of natural disasters, thunderstorms, and of the drying up of the Aral Sea, located between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, which has been partially reversed due to human driven restoration efforts - all solemn calls to do more to prevent further climate change. Overall, this book is completely worth your time, even if you don't want to read the few pages of introduction he gives, but I guarantee you'll be drawn into read his comments about his photography.
